When your car won’t start, or you lose your job, it’s not easy to keep the right attitude. Every little thing will jab at you if you let it.
The first thought will probably be; why is this always happening to me? Or today is going to be a bad day.
And those things are annoying and scary. But why not try to look at it as a new opportunity? You more than likely wouldn’t have quit the job on your own. If you did, you would have found a different job already, right?
This is no different. If you look at this as a new opportunity that will change your life for the better, your attitude will improve your results.
You’ll be more apt to ask yourself what you really want to do. It’s a new chance to pursue that dream that you had put on hold for a while. Maybe you could start a new career. Work from home. Try something you’ve been intrigued about for years.
Even if your bank account is low and you need the money, you can get a temporary job and look more into what you would do if you could.
And then go for it. Try it. This is your chance.
As for the car, maybe this is your chance to get a different one. Or catch a ride with someone that will become your new best friend.
Worthwhile Perception Will Cause You to Look For the Joy
It is so easy to slip into negative thinking. Thoughts that the world is against us is more comfortable than looking at it as if it’s a good thing. After all, why would you be happy that something didn’t go right?
Yet this is exactly what you should do.
Things in life go wrong. That is life. To learn to live the life you were given is your mission. If your life were perfect, you’d be bored to tears. The hard times suck. But when we get to the other side of those hard times, everything is brighter and lighter.
It won’t look like that when you’re in the thick of things but keep looking for the lesson in it. It’ll help you get through it with grace.
Positive Thinking Will Give You More Money
Everyone wants more money, yet it’s hard to hang on to for some people. Are you using money as a buffer, so you don’t have to face something in your life?
This is what happens with a lot of people. They buy something that they don’t need because they are looking for that high that something new brings. But if you are positive and you feel joy, you won’t be looking for any buffer. You’ll be enjoying life as it is and won’t need more.
Take a look around you. Do you have a lot of clutter? Then you are probably buffering with things. Ask yourself what you are ignoring. Face it head-on and if you need some help figuring out, spend your money on a good coach or therapist instead.
Positive Thinking Will Give You less Anxiety
Negative thinking will burn us out and give us anxiety. If you are continually focusing on what is crap in your life, your fear will rev up. But if you turn your thoughts to positive, it’ll slow your heart rate down and calm you down.
It’s hard to have anxiety if you are calm and feel in control of your life.
If you let your thoughts go, they will lead you to a place you don’t want to be. It can be hard to get out of it. Your anxiety will increase, and then your thoughts will get even more negative. It’ll start a vicious circle.
Work to keep your thoughts positive to keep your anxiety levels low.
Positive Thinking Will Bring More Opportunity in Your Life
Believe it or not, if you want more opportunities to come your way, you have to bring them to you through positive thinking.
It’s hard to be around someone that is always bringing everyone down. You don’t want to be the person that everyone shies away from. Even if they too do talk a lot of negativity, they’ll still walk away from you unless you have the same topic of negativity as they do.
It’s best to not even get on their negative train. Instead, try to turn the conversation to more positive talk. Or you can walk away from the conversation.
If others can feel and hear your positivity, they will bring you into their group. You’ll meet new people. With new people bring different circumstances. And of course, with different circumstances, you’ll have new opportunities.
Positive breeds positive, while negative will breed negative. It’s just the way it works.
How to Change Your Thinking
So how do you turn yourself around to attract more positivity in your life when you just aren’t feeling it?
There are many ways, but the easiest and quickest way to do it on the spot is to question the negative thought.
You need to turn it to positive so if you have the thought that you’ll never lose the weight, ask yourself why. It’ll shut those thoughts down. With each thought that comes up, question it.
It’s like one you had that preschooler who always asked why. Did you have one of those in your life? I did.
So get curious like that and keep asking yourself why you believe that thought is right. Many times you’ll realize how silly it is, and you will be able to shut the negative thinking down.
It seems crazy, but it does work. Your subconscious will always try to stop you from changing, but if you keep it up, it’ll have no choice but to get on board.
