Is There A Magic Pill For Happiness?

Everyone is seeking the magic pill for happiness. But a lot of times it feels like it eludes us. Like a cat chasing its tail and it never catches it.

But It doesn’t have to be an illusion. We have to be smarter about it by finding our happiness and not what others have.

Find out your why.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it? My why is because I’m sick of feeling cheated. I want to feel complete. I desire happiness.

But it isn’t always that easy. Just because you land that job doesn’t mean you’ll be any more happier. If you get your dream house, it doesn’t mean that every day is going to be puppies and rainbows.

Narrow down what happiness means to you. Is it money? What do you think money will do for you? I had always thought that if I could have a bottomless bank account, I could have everything I’ve ever wanted. But then twice when I got an inheritance, I realized that the money meant nothing. Objects are just objects and they in no way bring me happiness. Not like the people I had lost. I had to be honest with myself and admit that money wasn’t as important to me as I thought.

What Does Happiness Mean To You?

So that brings us to what is happiness for you? You have to be true to yourself and your core values. I think a lot of times people don’t let themselves be happy because they carry such guilt in their hearts. But your happiness IS all about you and you have the right to be joyful.

Spend some time and analyze what happiness means to you. Align it with your life. Click To Tweet

Spend some time and analyze what happiness means to you. Align it with your life. Give yourself license to have that happiness. And start immediately.

Take baby steps toward it. Decide for the next hour you’re going to let yourself be happy. Is it working for you? If not reevaluate. Take time to spend a quiet hour building up your spiritual side. Ask God to lead you to the scriptures that will help you. Journal on how you feel. Pour out your heart on paper and wash any negativity from your soul.

It will take a bit of time. You will uncover your true self and only then can you be as happy as you were born to be.

Here are some verses to use to help you to move to your contentment:

Proverbs 10:38-The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Romans 15: 13-Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

John 16:22-And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

Psalm 30:5-For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

James 1: 2 & 3-My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
