Triangle Fancy Fold Card

It may be a fancy card, but seriously, making a homemade card is neither hard nor time consuming. In fact most of the cards I make take a half hour to an hour.

And it’s so much fun!

Pin Me!

This card I made today is unique but different. It definitely is different from what you buy from a store.

I find that the colors you incorporate in the handmade card is what makes it standout in the crowd.

We all have different ideas with what colors to use and this will make a homemade card more special.

When I was in a StampinUp! stamp group we would have a meeting once in a while where we had to use the same stamp or the same die to make a card. And I can guarantee you that each card was different.

So I challenge you to take the following directions I lay out for you and try to make it yourself using your own touches.

Fun Fold Card

Fancy fold cards are all about not using the traditional folding card. I took a full sheet of Marina Mist StampinUp! cardstock and cut it the long way.

This card is 4 1/4 inches high.

First I folded both ends of the card together so the ends met.

Since you know I’m not one for measuring, I basically drew a diagonal line of where to cut the folds.

Decorative Self-Adhesive Vinly

Once these were done I matched up a pieces of self-adhesive vinyl from Cricut. It came in a pretty pattern. I put the pieces of the triangles cut vinyl on top of the side triangle folds.

Glitter Washi Tape

Cricut also sells glittered washi tape. You have probably seen me use it on the snowman hat post.

Cricut makes a wonderful glittered washi tape that is perfect to use for cards.

On the center of the card, I put the tape on the top and the bottom.

Fiskars Label Punch

Using a label punch from Fiskars, I punched out a label in Blushing Bride StampinUp! card stock. Using my Misti Mini, I used matching Marina Mist StampinUp! ink to stamp the salutation.

This was placed at the top and in the center of the middle of the card.

Gems and Fancy Fold

Pale blue self-adhesive gems were put on all four sides of the label.

Then I stuck on two pink self-adhesive gems on each side of the label and on top of the blue glitter tape.

One pink gem was stuck to the bottom glitter washi tape in the center also.

To finish it off I glued on a rolled, pastel pink rose below the label.

Special Card Fold

When the finished card is closed you can see the complete card.

So because the card wouldn’t stay closed, I used a Command strip and cut it to size and put it on the corners of the folds and to the bottom glittered tape. This helped it stay closed.

Command strips were used to keep the front fancy card closed.

This is a pretty, easy card that doesn’t take an afternoon and can be customized for anyone you want to gift it to.
