What Is All The Hype About Purpose

Life Life With Purpose. (2)

When you are thinking about going into a business, you constantly hear about working on your passion and purpose. Business that thrives often start with one person’s purpose. And passion and purpose more than likely go hand in hand.

So what is purpose and why do we need it to be successful?

The dictionary describes it like this:

the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
have as one’s intention or objective.

When you are entering into a new business, it’s quite obvious as to why you need intention and/or an objective. If you can’t decide on what you want to sell there is no point to your business, and you won’t go very far.

You are going to have to love what you do because if you don’t, you will hate your business and sooner or later it will show. Whether it be with how you treat your customers or how you do the job. Your dissatisfaction will shine through.

Of course, customers are your bread and butter for current and future business. The customer will use word of mouth to spread the word about your service unless they sense you aren’t serious and then they probably won’t.

But what if you don’t care to start a new business? Why do you need purpose in life in general?

If we have a purpose, we have a goal. #SuccessTrain #Successtip Click To Tweet

Happiness is the key to life, and it is harder and harder to come by these days. We have so many choices in this world now that we can get distracted. If we have a purpose, we have a goal. Goals help us to achieve what we most desire. Purpose and desire go hand in hand.

I had a dream of being a writer for a long time before I even attempted it. It didn’t become important to me until I set a goal. My purpose was to write a book for Harlequin. They were running a contest for their American Romance line. It gave me the drive to finish Guilty Hearts.

It gave me a reason to keep going.

Guilty Heart was one of the entries that was chosen to be submitted to the editor. I didn’t get published through them, but I did get valuable feedback from an editor. Guilty Hearts was placed with a small publishing house called Dessert Breeze Publishing.

There is something to be said to see your purpose materialize into something bigger than yourself. This is how passion came in line with my purpose.

Purpose doesn’t have to be life changing. It could be as simple as sprucing up your living room. Maybe your purpose is just to make the room more inviting. You still have to have a goal. You have to find the correct color of paint or the right furniture. Maybe you want to change the pictures on your wall. This will still bring you happiness and a sense of completion after you are finished.

If you bring purpose into your life, you will have an easier time of accomplishing what you want to do or finding out what makes you tick. It’ll give you a new lease on life. Live your life with purpose from here on out and see if the happiness in your life increases.

Be sure to leave a comment as to how you have brought purpose into your life and your results.
