Do you crave freedom? Are there some days that you wished you could work for yourself. Do you sit at your 9 to 5 J.O.B. and wonder what it would be like to make your own decisions?
That if you were the boss, this is how you would do it?
I think that we all wonder that in some way or another. We have our own opinions of a better way to do things. It doesn’t matter that we have no idea if our ideas would work or not.
And some of us were never meant to have a business. Some people love to go to work. They look forward to getting out of the house. And they don’t want to have to worry about making the decisions.
That’s what makes this world a wonderful place to live.
Self-employed women who run businesses that they own are on the rise. Online coaches and courses are everywhere. These businesses can produce self-made millionaires.
It’s a lot of hard work, and delegation is vital when you crave freedom. You’ll need to hire someone you can trust to do the tasks that take you too much time. The jobs that you feel are required, but you don’t enjoy them. Plus, you have to be all in to make it.
If you’re ready to work hard, and you’re not the 9 to 5 type, you’re in the right place.
You’ll need to work on a few things to be successful.
Mindset Shifts When You Crave Freedom
There are a ton of mindset issues that will hold you back. These are a few everyone seems to struggle with:
- It’s too hard.
- I’m not good enough.
- I can’t do it alone.
- There are too many people out there that have the same idea.
These are all real thoughts you’ll have to address one by one. And they’ll keep coming up because let’s face it; it is scary when you venture out into this unknown territory.
Plus, you’ll need help somewhere along the way. The goal for most is more free time, more money, and more control.

If so, work on that mindset. Turn those negative thoughts into positive ones. Success will never happen if you are living in a cynical world. Study self-improvement books and set a goal to read one a month.
Limited Belief Of It’s Too Hard
Let’s address the limited belief that it’ll be too hard.
At the beginning of your journey, it’ll be hard. You’ll more than likely be still working outside of your business as you get started. At least that is the smart way to go. Don’t burn your bridge at your day job until you’re ready to leave. At least make sure that this business venture of yours will work and that it’s what you want.
There are specific commitments that you’ll have to make. Like when will you work on your business? Will you need to get up early and work before your day job? Or will you have enough energy to work after you get home at night?
Maybe you can work it into your lunch hours.
For me, I get up early and work on my business before I go to the 9 to 5 job. I find that this is when I’m fresh and energized. I do this before I go for a 30-minute walk. My current day job is stressful and zaps all of my energy.
Plus, I get the satisfaction I need to get me through the day.
How Satisfaction Fuels Your Energy
When you are working on something that you believe in, you won’t feel drained. If you are, maybe you need to reevaluate your business. Because this isn’t just about the money or even getting out of the day job, you can find a different day job if you need to.
It’s more about a pull you feel to do something that will benefit someone else. If you pursue what is tugging at your heart, at the end of the day, you’ll feel exhausted but satisfied.
You could work 10 hours at your dream business but not gas out.
That is when you know that you’re in the right spot.
This kind of satisfaction doesn’t come from working for someone else.
Don’t Do It Alone
As satisfied as you’ll be, you’ll still need help. Help can come in many different versions. There are a lot of various tools that automate your business. You can use these for your social media presence.
Like Tailwind for Instagram and Pinterest. (Affiliate Linke Alert. If you purchase from Tailwind, I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.)
Or you can use a virtual assistant (VA) that will give you a few hours for a fee to schedule your social media, update your content on your blog, or managing your email. You could hire a V.A. with the money that you can afford and build up to more tasks to hire out later.
When You Have More Money
The techie stuff like email marketing and updating your website can be daunting. Once you have more of a budget, you might want to look into hiring a Technical VA that could manage your site.
Or, if you do a weekly blog to keep your online presence relevant, this tech V.A. could take your content and put it into your blog with pictures and affiliate links if that is relevant to your business.
Running a blog is a lot more than just writing it, and if the writing part isn’t your strong suit, this would be an excellent task to delegate to someone else. It might cost you a bit more money but look for a V.A. that sells monthly packages.
Your job is to put out to the world what you were put here to do. It’s the part that gives you the satisfaction that no 9 to 5 can. If you have it in your heart to run your own business, nothing but doing it will provide you with the satisfaction you crave.
But don’t think you have to do it alone. I know it’s hard to spend money when you don’t have it. When you don’t know if this business will work, but you won’t know until you try either.
