An excellent way to attract your audience through a freebie is the workbook. The workbook is something that you will make for your client to dig deeper into his problem to find the solution. It’s not something as simple as a checklist or cheat sheet we talked about before. If you are looking to do those, you can find more information in my previous blogs:
With the workbook, you can take your client on a deep discovery session. It could lead to a service or a course that you are offering. It would get them started on their journey, and then your course would give them even more in-depth training.
They will be dying to get your course or service to provide them with even more help with their pain points.
Freebie Workbook Creation
I did a workbook for my clients on how to decide what kind of freebie to create. You can find it here.
In this freebie, I included questions and then blank areas for the client to fill out. I again created it in Canva.
I used the report feature because it will give you more than a page. However, you can copy a page or add a page if the template you choose contains only one page.
But for the workbook, I used a title page. This page I added my logo, a background, and of course, the title. I strongly encourage you to create a cover for the workbook. My workbook is three pages, with one page being the cover page.
Workbook Made With Canva
Below is one of the pages that the subscriber can fill out. They can print it out. It’s not fillable, but that would work also.
I used white boxes and put the wording on top of the white boxes. I had to edit until the questions and statements fit. Your workbook will be as long as it needs to be. So if you need more pages, you add them. All you need to do is click on the + sign in the top right of the page.
You can also move the pages around in case you have decided that they are out of order. Choose the up or down arrow for that. The white boxes came from elements. You can select which one fits you and your brand. For text, you choose the text button to the left.
The most important thing is to play with it. Canva is very easy to use, but sometimes you need to play with it to fit your brand.
Then you save it and download it as a PDF to your computer. You will need this to put in your media on WordPress to create a link. This link will be connected to your landing page to add them as a subscriber.
In my brainstorm freebie, I give you ideas to nail down the pain points of your client. It helps you to decide what kind of freebie you want to create. For the workbook, I suggest you do a little bit of research.
Find out what your client is struggling the most with. Use Facebook groups or your Facebook group page. You can also do surveys and ask what their struggles are.
Once you have that information, you can brainstorm how to organize your workbook. Are you going to give your client prompts to journal it out? How about questions, like I did to help them find their solution? There is no wrong answer here as long as it serves your client.
Then plaster your workbook everywhere. Could you put it in your bio for Instagram? Make it easy for them to grab on your Facebook page. Pinterest is also a great place to get them interested in your freebie. Lead them to your website where they can get it and find out more about what you have to offer.
If it’s too much for you to create the landing page, you can hire it out. I could also help you with that. You can even have the workbook created for you by giving clear instructions on the workbook’s content.
To deliver the workbook using your landing page, I have clear directions in my checklist blog.
There are different ways to deliver your expertise in a freebie, as you have learned in the last few blogs. The important thing is to get that freebie created so that you can build your email list.
If you need even more help with your email list, there is an Amy Porterfield course that is awesome. I do have an affiliate link for it here. You won’t be disappointed with Amy’s training.
